
WIT Executive Director
Heather Rocker
Heather Rocker joined WIT in March 2007 as the organization’s first-ever executive director. A graduate of Georgia Tech, Heather holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She brings more than 15 years experience in volunteer leadership positions to WIT along with a strong track record of establishing repeatable processes, procedures and operational efficiencies.
Outside of WIT, Heather serves as Immediate Past Board President of Atlanta Women’s Alliance, Alumnae Council Board Member for America’s Junior Miss Scholarship Program, Trustee and Committee Chair for Georgia Tech’s Board of Trustees, and Volunteer Training Director & Board Advisor for the Junior League of Gwinnett & North Fulton Counties. Past leadership activities include serving as Georgia’s State Director for America’s Junior Miss Scholarship Program, Board Member of the North Metro Georgia Tech Club, and President of the Junior League of Gwinnett & North Fulton. Heather was named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “ 2008 Top 40 Under 40”, awarded the honor of “ 2009 Outstanding Young Alumna” by Georgia Tech, and won the 2009 Turknett Leadership Award in the Inspiritor category.
Heather currently authors a blog about strategic volunteering and speaks to nonprofit and corporate groups about incorporating this concept into your leadership development plans.
