ATTIRE:  Attire for Women of the Year in Technology ranges from business to cocktail. Men should wear a jacket and tie.  Women may wear business suits to cocktail dresses.


Its really is an honor just to be nominated. WIT’s Women of the Year in Technology Awards presented by Grant Thornton celebrates women technology executives for their accomplishments as leaders in business, visionaries of technology and women who make a difference in our communities. To qualify, women must hold business, technology or scientific leadership roles within a technology organization or maintain technology or scientific leadership positions within a non-technology organization. In 2010, winners were announced in three categories:

• Enterprise business, representing companies with more than 2,500 employee
• Medium business, representing companies with 251 to 2,500 employees
• Small business, representing companies with 250 employees or less.

The 2010 Winners:

• In the enterprise business category: Lisa McVey, Vice President, CIO MPT and RelayHealth Provider and Consumer, McKesson Corporation
• In the medium business category: Margaret L. Loper, Chief Scientist, Information and Communications Laboratory, Georgia Tech Research Institute
• In the small business category: Barbara A. Carkenord, Co-founder, Chief Curriculum Strategist, B2T Training
