Signature Events
WIT special events allowing Georgia’s technology community to gather for networking, recognition of achievement, and fundraising to support WIT’s mission and programming.
WIT Connect: Connecting for a Cause
Held in June, this event serves to raise the majority of funds necessary to meet the mission of WIT and sustain its programming throughout the year. Live and silent auctions are the cornerstone for the event. This is the unique chance to bid for a personal introduction and time with one of Georgia's top C-level executives and/or
entire C-level teams.
Primary Benefits: opportunity to work on one of the largest and most recognized special events in Georgia’s technology community including opportunities to meet a wide variety of industry leaders; high level of personal exposure.
WIT’s Women of the Year in Technology Awards (WIT Awards)
WIT Awards recognizes the achievements of Georgia women in technology leadership roles. The award was established in 1999 to show appreciation for women in the Georgia technology community who contributed their talents and leadership, both within their organization and within their community.
Primary Benefits: gain exposure to leading women in Georgia’s technology community while growing the project management and event execution skills necessary to coordinate this large, special event
WIT Forums & Socials
Various topics on leadership in the technology sector held 10 times per year; calendar of events; commitment to attend events.
Primary Benefits: exposure to influential members of the technology community including the participants, speakers, and advisors involved in the program
The Events Program Manager is esponsible for the overall planning and execution of WIT Connect , WIT’s Women of the Year in Technology Awards (WIT Awards), and WIT Forums events in alignment with the Strategic and Annual plan. Reports directly to WIT’s Executive Director. Overall responsibilities include:
- Participating in monthly Program Manager meetings facilitated by the Executive Director
- Attending the WIT Leadership Team Workshop (February 2010)
- Compiling and monitoring the Annual Plan for the Events program area
- Serving as the principal guidance resource for the Chairpersons of WIT Connect, WIT Awards, and WIT Forums
- Attending monthly Program Manager meetings and providing report on program area including information gathered by the program area team
- Disseminating information to all members of the Events program area as requested by the WIT Executive Team
- Tracking metrics appropriate for the Events program area including expenses and revenues for each committee in relation to the budget
- Submitting draft budgets for each Events program as requested for the WIT Finance Committee budget process
- Coordinating with each Events program area Chair to develop plans and timeline for each committee
- Ensuring that all members of the Events program area are completing their assigned responsibilities providing training and guidance as needed

Table & Ticket Sales
- Solicitation of nominee candidate companies and vendors for the purchase of tables and/or tickets
- Identification of other companies to solicit for table/ticket sales
- Communication with Sponsorship team and Nominee Committee with regard to who has purchased or is interested in purchasing a table/ticket.
- Coordination with event management agency on seating arrangement for event night
