Finance
Volunteers in this program area assist the WIT Leadership Team by monitoring the budgets through regular reporting and assist Program Managers and Chairs to be sure that their expenses and revenues are assigned to the proper budget line items.
Volunteers in this program area assist the WIT Leadership Team by monitoring the budgets through regular reporting and assist Program Managers and Chairs to be sure that their expenses and revenues are assigned to the proper budget line items. This program area also provides input in updating financial processes and procedures for the organization.
Primary Benefits: strengthen financial management skills and learn about nonprofit accounting
Responsible for the overall planning and execution of Finance in alignment with the Strategic and Annual plan. Reports directly to WIT’s Board Treasurer and Executive Director.
Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Participating in monthly Program Manager meetings facilitated by the Executive Director
- Attending the WIT Leadership Team Workshop (February 2010)
- Compiling and monitoring the Annual Plan for the Finance program area
- Serving as the principal guidance resource for the Program Managers and Committee Chairs for all tasks related to the WIT budget
- Attending monthly Program Manager meetings and providing report on program area including information gathered by the program area team
- Disseminating information to all members of the Finance program area as requested by the WIT Executive Team
- Tracking metrics appropriate for the Finance program area including expenses and revenues for each committee in relation to the budget
- Assist Board Treasurers in compiling quarterly budget narratives
- Reporting of budget variances, submitted monthly to WIT’s Executive Team
- Assist each Program Manager with the submission of draft budgets
- Coordinating with the Finance team to develop plans and timelines
- Providing input to Executive Director and Finance team in updating financial processes and procedures
- Work with Executive Director to place volunteers and direct their efforts
- Ensure processes and procedures are documented, implemented and followed by all program volunteers
The primary responsibility of the Finance Manager is to monitor and maintain expenses associated with running WIT Events (WIT Connect, WIT Awards, WIT Forums & Socials).
Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Gather monthly financial reports from Finance Program Manager
- Develop and maintain detailed program budgets based on board-approved budget numbers
- Coordinate with event chairs to make sure that program expenses are effectively managed
- Attending the WIT Leadership Team Workshop (February 2010)
The primary responsibility of the Finance Manager is to monitor and maintain expenses associated with running the Girls Get IT/Pre-Career programs (Behind the Scenes Event, Job Shadow Program, Career Exploration Workshops).
Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Gather monthly financial reports from Finance Program Manager
- Develop and maintain detailed program budgets based on board-approved budget numbers
- Document company and personal donations in support of Girls Get IT/Foundation programs
- Coordinate with program chairs to make sure that program expenses are effectively managed
- Attending the WIT Leadership Team Workshop (February 2010)
The primary responsibility of the Finance Manager is to monitor and maintain expenses associated with running leadership development programs (WIT’s Executive Coaching, WIT’s Careers in Action). Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Gather monthly financial reports from Finance Program Manager
- Develop and maintain detailed program budgets based on board-approved budget numbers
- Process charity donations on behalf of all speakers
- Coordinate with leadership program chairs to make sure that program expenses are effectively managed
- Attending the WIT Leadership Team Workshop (February 2010)
The WIT Tresurer is Selected by Board Nominations Committee.
- Understand financial accounting for nonprofit organizations
- Serve as financial officer of the organization and as chairperson of the finance committee
- Manage, with the finance committee, the board's review of and action related to the board's financial responsibilities
- Work with the Executive Director and Board President to ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the board on a timely basis
- Assist the Executive Director and Board President in preparing the annual budget and presenting the budget to the board for approval
- Review the annual audit and answer board members' questions about the audit
The WIT Foundation Tresurer is Selected by Board Nominations Committee
