This Week’s Women in Technology Thought Leader: Fabiola Charles Stokes, Google 

Fabiola leads the Community Impact initiatives in the Atlanta area for Google. She and her team develop and drive external partnerships and programs that help to close the digital divide by promoting digital inclusion, digital literacy and academic disciplines in STEM.

The Community Impact area of Google is building, launching and supporting program that positively impact the communities served by Google Fiber. This often requires executing new initiatives intersecting technology, community, and social change.

Before she joined Google, Fabiola was the Vice President of Communications and External Affairs with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where she provided primary leadership and management across the organization. Additionally, she has had leadership roles in the Community Relations and Organizational Management areas of the American Red Cross, Points of Light and Hands on Network.

In addition to her work with Google, Fabiola is deeply passionate about other community initiatives, including:

  • Volunteering with the Cities of Service Committee, for the Office of the Mayor, City of Atlanta
  • Co-Chairing the LEAD Atlanta Program, for Leadership Atlanta
  • Advisory Board Member and Community Engagement Co-Chair for The Commerce Society – the leadership group of the Commerce Club’s under-40 membership
  • Volunteering with the Marketing Advisory Committee of the Atlanta Area Boy Scouts of America
