Atlanta – May 21, 2009 – Women in Technology (WIT) and Cbeyond are joining forces through WIT’s Strategic Alliances, a program matching events, services and volunteer opportunities to the strategic goals of a company.
Cbeyond will be supporting WIT’s leadership and development programs through event sponsorships, leadership program participation and volunteer hours. Cbeyond will also participate in WIT’s Girls Get IT “Behind the Scenes” program, providing middle and high school-age girls exposure to technology-related careers.
“Over the years, Cbeyond has supported WIT in a variety of ways and we are thrilled to expand our relationship while supporting Cbeyond’s corporate goals with this strategic partnership,” says Heather S. Rocker, executive director of WIT. “This partnership provides high-profile visibility for Cbeyond with a targeted technology audience, while giving WIT support for our programs and events.”
Terry Trout, Cbeyond’s vice president of customer experience is highly involved with WIT as she shares the same passion to develop tomorrow’s leaders. She serves as a WIT board member helping develop policies and supporting programs that promote the unique talents women bring to the technology field. In 2007, she was honored as the Woman of the Year in Technology in the mid-market category.
“WIT continues to be a valuable partner in connecting our Cbeyond women to opportunities that put their careers on a fast track to success,” said Trout. “The leadership and development programs, networking and volunteer opportunities offered by WIT are unmatched by any other organization, and will continue to be an investment that provides proven results for Cbeyond.”
“Cbeyond is proud to invest in our employees and community by developing strategic partnerships with outstanding organizations such as WIT,” said Mary Ford, Cbeyond’s vice-president of learning and development. “WIT’s exemplary programs and events underscore our commitment to leadership development and volunteer service, and provide women of all levels the opportunity to connect and grow personally and professionally.”
