For 25 years, Women in Technology (WIT) has been working to improve opportunities for women in STEAM, and to improve STEAM education opportunities for girls. WIT is a bridge between women and girls who want to pursue careers in STEAM, and those who are already excelling.
The WIT leadership team is excited to announce this year’s WIT Connect Keynote Speaker: Kathryn Finney. Named by Inc. Magazine as one of the tech industry’s most influential women, Kathryn Finney is known as a visionary, entrepreneur, advocate, writer, and correspondent.

Currently, she holds a position as a White House Champion of Change. She is also a former member of the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. As the Managing Director and Founder of digitalundivided, Kathryn Finney works to empower black and Latina female entrepreneurs toward economic growth and innovation.

Finney is also involved as a General Partner with the Harriet Fund, which was one of the first venture funds dedicated to helping Latina and black women build startups and grow them to iconic proportions. Right now, 50 percent of Harriet Fund members are new Angel investors who are also black women.

“Supporting women and girls who want to pursue careers in STEAM, especially in the tech and innovation space, is crucial to the work that we do at digitalundivided,” said Kathryn Finney. “WIT is helping to build the pipeline by linking women and girls to a wealth of great opportunities to enhance and develop their skill sets. It’s an honor for me to keynote at WIT Connect this year.”
This year’s WIT Connect Presenting Sponsor is NTT DATA, a top 10 global business and IT services provider with 100,000+ professionals in more than 50 countries. The company recently acquired the former Dell Services, an active WIT supporter and sponsor for the past seven years.

“As a leader in the IT Services industry and presenting sponsor of WIT Connect, we’re thrilled to welcome Kathryn Finney as this year’s keynote speaker,” said Mona Charif, chief marketing officer, NTT DATA Services. “We’re proud to help spread Kathryn’s message of ‘BIG’ innovation from digitalundivided to extend the mission of empowering entrepreneurial women of color in the tech industry.”

The 2017 WIT Connect event will also include the presentation of WIT Girls and WIT Campus Scholarship Awards, made possible by some of Atlanta’s premier tech companies who are committed to the WIT mission.
Join us at WIT Connect 2017 to listen to Kathryn Finney speak, and to experience firsthand the passion, insight, dedication, drive, and inspiration that, together, have made her a veritable tour de force in the modern technology industry.

Proceeds from WIT Connect supports the WIT Girls and WIT Campus programs, as well as, support grants to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEAM) focused nonprofits and local schools. Since 2007, WIT Connect has raised more than $2 million to support WIT’s mission. Funds raised enable WIT to provide networking, thought leadership, and professional development opportunities to Georgia’s leading women in STEAM.
